Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies

Description
An old family favorite and perennial crowd-pleaser, I like these better than chocolate chip cookies. They're so homey and comforting!
Yield
48 Servings
Preparation time
45 minutes
Ingredients
1 c Unsalted Butter
3 c Rolled Oats
1⁄2 t Salt
1 t Cinnamon
1 t Baking Soda
1 c white flour
2 Eggs
1 t Vanilla extract
1⁄2 c Granulated Sugar
3⁄4 c Dark Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
1 c Raisins
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cream the butter with the sugars, vanilla, and eggs.
  3. Combine the flour, soda, cinnamon, and salt, and add the combined mixture to the butter mixture.
  4. Add oats and raisins and mix well.
  5. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake 8-10 minutes or until done. Let cool for a minute on the cookie sheet before removing to a wire rack.
Notes
I like to use the Quaker old-fashioned oats. I like the texture better. Sometimes I use golden raisins, or craisins.

This is the old recipe from the Quaker Oats box, but they have changed theirs to use less butter.
