Description
Gnocchi con Burro e Salvia

Potato Gnocchi with butter and sage is another easy and delicious marvel of Italian design.

This is one of those handy recipes that uses only a few common ingredients. The Potato gnocchi can be made ahead of time and frozen.

You need fresh sage for this. If you don't have it in the garden, then you'll want to get some. The other three ingredients may already be in your pantry or refrigerator!

Yield
4 Servings
Preparation time
20 minutes
Ingredients
1 lb Potato Gnocchi
8 oz Butter (Unsalted)
1 clv Garlic (crushed)
8 Sage Leaf
Instructions
  1. Put on a big pot of salted water to boil.
  2. In a medium-sized skillet, melt the butter over moderate heat.
  3. When the foam subsides, add the crushed garlic.
  4. When the garlic starts to brown, remove it and add the sage.
  5. When the sage starts to get crisp, remove the butter from the heat.
  6. Cook the gnocchi. As they are finished, scoop them out with a slotted spoon and put them into the butter mixture.
  7. When all of the gnocchi are in the butter-sage mixture, add salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Transfer into a warm dish and serve hot.
