I had long thought that the complex herbaceous audacity of green Chartreuse would be a perfect match for a gin of great character. Recent experimental evidence indicates a clear need for further research...

I really want to try this with Barr Hill Gin and with Uncle Val's Botanical Gin.

Ingredients
2 1⁄4 oz Gin
1⁄2 oz Dry Vermouth
1⁄4 oz Chartreuse
1 ds Orange Bitters
Instructions
Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
Notes
The old recipes for this call for yellow chartreuse, a simpler, less potent, and less expensive variety of Chartreuse, and thus more sensible to keep in a bar. The green Chartreuse is a natural partner to gin, so use it if you have it!
