Green Mountain Organic Gin

Green Mountain Organic GinI found Green Mountain Organic Gin at Binends in Braintree, MA.

It can be tricky finding their site with a web search, so use the link here.

I find this to be a tasty gin. Being organic is not a selling point for me for gin, but interesting flavors in harmony can seal the deal, and character counts.

Green Mountain Organic Gin is more junipery-piney than the Wire Works Gin that I tried the preceding night, but it's not as in-your-face as the Gale Force Gin.

I think it would make a good gin and tonic, but I have been fooled before by artisanal gins in that pursuit.

I tried it in three small Martinis with different Dry Vermouth. All were made 4:1 with no garnish. It was best (to my taste buds) with the Dolin, pleasantly woodsy and reminiscent of its namesake Green Mountains. With the herbier Martini & Rossi it got somewhat lost; maybe 5:1 or 6:1 would make it better. It was very good and balanced with Vya.

It is fine for sipping, reminding me a lot of the 209 from California, but with a more Vermont than Northern California flavor, maybe more green-shady-pine-slopes than towering firs. A few drops of water open it up and tame it a bit; I like it better that way.

It makes a potent and wildly delicious Pink Gin.
