Spry

Spry was a canned fat like Crisco. It was sold from the 1930s until it was discontinued in the 1970s. It is mentioned here because it is a key component in Mama's Seed Cookies. As far as I know, you can substitute Crisco in that and any other recipe without ill effect.

Personally, I use butter anyway.
