Potatiskorv

Potatiskorv, aka värmlandskorvThis is a mild, interesting sausage of pork and beef stretched with potato. It made a fine accompaniment to Bruna Bonor (Swedish brown baked beans).

I buy potatiskorv at Crown Bakery in Worcester.

Risgrynsgrot

Swedish Rice PuddingThis is a simple and delicious Swedish rice pudding, usually served with raspberries or lingonberry preserves.

This is often served at Christmas time, with an almond hidden inside as a symbol of good luck for the one who gets it.

Bruna Bönor

Swedish Brown BeansSwedish comfort-food for those long winters... Swedish baked beans are similar to Boston Baked Beans, but different enough to be worth exploring, especially during the winter evenings after Christmas while we wait for spring.

Kabiljo

Swedish KabiljoThis hearty and unusual (to us) Swedish fish-rice pudding is a real winter rib-sticking side dish that is easy to make and stores well. I plan to make it at least once every winter.
