Zoi's Christmas Liqueur

Description

This is a sweetened, spiced brandy cordial suitable for giving as gifts in pretty bottles.

Ingredients
1 3⁄4 l Brandy
3⁄8 l Ouzo
2 c Sugar
3 Cinnamon sticks (2-inch)
12 Cloves
1 Nutmeg (cracked)
Instructions

Boil together the brandy, sugar, and spices. Use a big pan to ensure it does not boil over.

Add the Ouzo and let the liqueur cool.

Strain into decorative bottles.

Notes

Boiling brandy is highly flammable! If it catches fire, stay calm,turn off the gas, and put the cover on the pan. Any spilled brandy should burn itself out in short order.
