Favourite Irish Recipes

is a small, inexpensive, and lovely rebuttal to the stereotype of bad Irish cuisine. It is part of a very large series of books by Salmon Books that relate to the traditional cooking of the British Isles.

Many recipes from this book were used in our St Patrick's Day Feast, and they all came out wonderfully. This book is not about corned beef and cabbage; it is about real food eaten by real people day-to0day. When I read it I can hear my grandmother's voice.

It is important to note that it is written in English, not American, so all the measurements and ingredients are in the English style. I had no trouble with the conversions, but you might want to keep a conversion table handy.
