Early American Beverages

John Hull Brown's entertaining is full of information and old-style recipes (a wineglass-full of this and a gill of that) that are fun to read and sometimes fun to make, although many of them seem alien enough to be from another planet.

I made the Egg Flip tonight, and really enjoyed it! I will be making more from this book.

The book is long out of print, but it is readily available used on Amazon (click the link above). I found it at a used book store.
