David's Steak Sauce

Description

David preparing his steak sauce, photo by XD Xiang This delicious sauce accompanied one of the two pieces of beef prepared by Sous-Vide Cooking at our last Actifio Pot-lucks lunch.

It was savory and wonderful, and it's easy to make.

This was great with beef, but I think it would go really well with striped bass or swordfish as well. I plan to try that soon! 

Ingredients

1⁄2eaRed Onion (chopped finely)
8clvGarlic (peeled and crushed)
1tThyme
1cA-1 Steak Sauce
1THot Sauce (your favorite type)

Instructions

  1. Saute the onion until soft.
  2. Add the garlic and saute a few moments more.
  3. Add the A-1 Sauce and stir in the thyme.
  4. Bring to a slow simmer and cook for 5-8 minutes to let the flavors mingle.
  5. Add the hot sauce and black pepper to taste.
  6. Bring to a boil and reduce to the desired thickness.
